SWT Mastering

SWT Mastering is an analog and digital mastering studio located in Luduș, in the Transylvania region of Romania. It is run by engineer Herman van der Veen, who has more than 25 years of experience in broadcasting, recording, mixing, and mastering.

The studio offers remote mastering services for songs and albums, with a collaborative approach focused on preserving the identity of each mix and preparing the material for distribution.

Studio integration

The V3 Acoustic 78RU-A console occupies the central listening position and distributes the processing chain across various modules arranged at an angle around the engineer. This configuration keeps the controls for the analog equipment within easy reach and reserves the central area for the monitor, editing, and software operation.

The ample rack capacity allows the mastering chain to be integrated into a single workstation. The black finish blends with the dark tones of the room and the equipment, while the angular geometry orients the processors toward the listening position.

Analog and Digital Mastering

SWT Mastering uses a hybrid setup that combines digital tools with a Maselec analog chain, Antelope conversion and synchronization, and various processors dedicated to tonal and dynamic control.

The process is tailored to the needs of each project and takes into account the final format and distribution platform. Its credits include artists such as The Mono Jacks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Alexandra Ușurelu, Toulouse Lautrec, and Admiral C4C.
