Grand Hotel Mastering

Grand Hôtel Mastering is a professional mastering studio located in Saint-Étienne, France, and run by engineer Alexandre Duno. His work combines analog processing, digital tools, and a special focus on the spatial perception of sound.

The studio works with artists and composers seeking a distinct sonic identity, with a particular focus on electroacoustic music, experimental projects, and productions that require meticulous attention to detail.

Studio integration

The two Face Up Rack modules are positioned on either side of the listening position and house the main analog processing chain. Their angled arrangement keeps the controls and meters facing the engineer without placing a conventional desk in front of the monitoring system.

The black finish blends in with the room's acoustic panels, while the space between the two modules maintains a direct line of sight to the monitors and the central screen.

Analog mastering and monitoring

The studio's signal chain includes Kii Three BXT monitoring with Trinnov Nova, Crane Song HEDD Quantum conversion, and processors from manufacturers such as Knif, Terry Audio, Shadow Hills, and Maselec.
